Psychological Counselling

Individual counselling costs $120 for a 50+ minute ‘session’. Clients referred by their GP, or Specialist via the Medicare Better Access Scheme for individual counselling are eligible for a rebate of approximately $87.00, resulting in a ‘gap’ fee of approximately $33.00.

Unfortunately, this practice is unable to bulk-bill, however refunds are generally paid within several hours, or overnight.

Couple Counselling

Relationship Therapy costs $150 for a 50 – 60 minute ‘session’. The initial appointment costs $210 for 90 minutes. There are no Medicare rebates available for relationship therapy at this time.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

Resilience Psychology Taree is currently undertaking the accreditation process. All fees are either paid directly following a session, or are invoiced according to the gazetted NDIS rates.

State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) – Workers Compensation

All sessions are invoiced to the Insurer at the gazetted SIRA rates. Prior to attendance at your consultation, your Insurer must have approved an Initial Consultation and a claim number provided to Resilience Psychology Taree.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

All fees are invoiced according to individual work place arrangements. All 50 minute sessions are $150.00. If required, reports are invoiced at $150.00 per 60 minutes (minimum 60 minutes). Resilience Psychology Taree does not provide Medico-legal, or stand alone diagnostic reports.


Resilience Psychology, Taree provides counselling and assessment services for children and adolescents aged 4+ years. Assessments are suitable to help inform diagnostic and educational decisions made by your child’s paediatrician and school. These assessments are not suitable for medico-legal, Children’s Court, or Family Law court decisions.

Assessments include:

  • Mental health and emotional adjustment for ages 4+ years
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) for ages 4 – 13 years
  • Cognitive and Adaptive Behaviour Assessments for ages 6 – 16 years

Fees for Assessments:

Fees for assessments vary, depending on the type of assessment. Please make contact with this practice for information that is relevant to your needs.

Checklist for Autism Assessments:

  1. My child’s vision and hearing have been recently checked. This is necessary prior to your child’s first assessment session.
  2. I can provide copies of my child’s recent school or preschool reports and my child’s teacher is willing to complete a questionnaire and talk to the psychologist about my child’s social and academic development at school.
  3. (Where relevant) I can provide copies of Occupational Therapy, Speech, school based and any other assessments relating to my child.
  4. I am willing to complete detailed questionnaires about many aspects of my child’s development and am willing to participate in direct observations of my child.
